About the Role: Our client, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in Brisbane’s western suburbs, is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer - Data Historian to join their team for a causal ongoing position for 12 months, working Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week. This role plays a critical part in supporting manufacturing operations through reliable, compliant, and insightful industrial data systems. In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain data historian systems that capture and analyse large volumes of time-series data from industrial environments (PLCs, SCADA, DCS). Your work will directly support operational efficiency, predictive maintenance, and regulatory compliance within a GMP-regulated setting. NOTE: Applicants will be required to undertake a full medical assessment, drug screening and police check to be eligible for this role. The successful candidate will be responsible but not limited to:System Design & Implementation: Configure, deploy, and maintain historian platforms and data interfaces connected to manufacturing and packaging equipment.Data Integration: Integrate historian systems with PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and enterprise systems such as LIMS and ERP.Validation & Support: Write and execute qualification and validation protocols, and provide ongoing technical support.Compliance: Ensure systems meet regulatory and quality requirements, including GMP and FDA 21 CFR Part 11.Collaboration: Partner with automation, IT, engineering, quality, and operations teams to support data-driven decision-making.Lifecycle Management: Support system upgrades, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Skills & Experience: The successful candidate must have:A degree qualification in Engineering (or a related discipline)Proven experience in a Data Historian, Control Sytems or Electrical Engineer, or similar roleIntermediate to advanced experience with PLCs, SCADA, and DCS systemsStrong understanding of GMP-regulated manufacturing environmentsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsHigh attention to detail with strong time management and organisational skills Apply!
