TO3 Technical Officer

About the role
We are seeking a TO3 Technical Officer to support fisheries reporting systems within the Reporting, Information and Digital Solutions team. You will work with digital platforms and data systems that support sustainable fisheries management across Queensland. This includes vessel tracking, quota monitoring, and electronic reporting tools. This is a Brisbane based casual role, offering full time hours each week until September with strong likelihood of extension beyond this.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for fisheries reporting systems (e.g. logbooks, vessel tracking, Qld eFisher app)
• Assist with system improvements, testing, and implementation
• Analyse reporting data and support quota monitoring activities
• Develop user guides and deliver training to industry stakeholders
• Engage with commercial fishers to improve system uptake and compliance
• Contribute to reporting, insights, and system enhancements

 
Skills/Experience

• Degree in science, applied science or similar
• Strong data, systems, or technical support experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Ability to analyse information and improve processes

• Current driver’s licence
• Australian working rights
