Technician - R&D

About the role:

• Major mining organisation based in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne
• 9-month casual contract (potential to extend)
• Full-time hours, Mon-Fri
• Normal business hours
• Onsite parking available and easily accessible via public transport

Duties:

• Support upcoming project work - small scale and large scale
• Routine laboratory analysis using chemical and physical techniques
• Preparation of reagents and samples
• Collection, record and review data
• Setting up, commissioning and decommissioning tests following specifications
• Following SOPs and strict safety standards
• General laboratory housekeeping

Skills/experience:

• Tertiary education in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar
• Previous experience in a laboratory environment is ideal
• Previous mining laboratory experience is highly advantageous
• Microsoft Excel proficiency
• Excellent time management and communication
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Ability to work independently and within a team
