Major mining organisation based in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne
9-month casual contract (potential to extend)
Full-time hours, Mon-Fri
Normal business hours
Onsite parking available and easily accessible via public transport
Working within the Bacteria Laboratory, your duties will include, but not limited to:
Routine laboratory analysis of samples using bench scale techniques
Prepare samples for microbial counting using equipment such as centrifuges or sonicators
Ensure aseptic techniques are performed to prevent cross-contamination
Perform basic wet chemistry techniques
Collection and reviewal of laboratory results
Accurate preparation of multiple sample batches
Following SOPs and strict safety standards
General laboratory housekeeping
Skills/experience:
Tertiary education in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Microbiology or similar. Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques will be highly regarded too.
Previous experience in a laboratory environment is ideal
Excellent time management and communication
High attention to detail and ability to multitask
