About the Role Our client, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company based in the Western suburbs of Brisbane, is seeking a
Technical Officer to join their
Quality Assurance team on a fixed-term contract through to the end of
2026.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on the calibration, maintenance, and compliance of laboratory equipment within a regulated
GMP environment. It is well suited to a candidate with a scientific background who is looking to gain, or further develop, practical experience in QA and laboratory operations within the pharmaceutical industry.
Please note: The site is not accessible via public transport, therefore reliable private transport is essential. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Performing calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment (e.g. balances, dissolution systems, HPLC, GC)
- Investigating incidents, analysing calibration data and trends, and troubleshooting equipment issues
- Supporting internal stakeholders and liaising with external service providers
- Ensuring GMP compliance, accurate documentation, and timely record keeping
- Contributing to safety initiatives, risk assessments, and other duties as required
Skills & Experience The successful candidate will have:
- A degree in Science (preferably Chemistry or a related discipline)
- Experience in a laboratory or technical environment; calibration experience is highly regarded but not essential
- An understanding of GMP or working within a regulated environment (advantageous)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- The ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- A proactive, safety-focused, and solutions-driven approach
