About the company Our client, a world leader in polymers and extruded film materials, is seeking an experienced QC Chemist to join their team in Melbourne SE Suburbs.
This family-owned organisation is located in the SE suburbs of Melbourne, has on site.
They are seeking a very experienced Technical Manager who comes with background in Polymer Chemistry ideally in unsaturated polyester resins to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.
About the role The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all of the technical functions related to development, QA and Technical services.
Responsibilities:- Assist in developing future strategies to ensure ongoing technical leadership
- Co-ordinate all technical activities ensuring alignment with corporate strategies
- Responsible for new product development and market implementation
- Technical transfer of information and formulations from overseas suppliers.
- Manage technical support for batch processing, Sales area and key accounts
- Maintain quality systems to meet ISO 9001
- Provide technical support to purchasing group and ensure new chemicals are on the inventory list (AICIS)
- Support customers with SDS advice so all company products comply with OH&S requirements
- Responsible for recruiting technical staff and managing their development and training
- Approve Customer Service projects and prioritise to ensure the proper focus of resources and team efficiency is maintained

Skills:- This role will involve interacting with a variety of internal and external stakeholders so excellent communication skills are a must.
- You will have completed a Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in the polymer industry is preferred.
- You will be a quality-focused individual with excellent attention to detail, have good communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
