About the company/role:- Dairy manufacturing company
- Seeking a Technical Assistant to join the team on a maternity leave cover
- Based in the Southern suburbs of Perth
- Entry level role - full training provided
- 9-month casual contract, with potential to extend. Full time hours.
- 3-week rotational roster:
Week 1: 5am - 12.36pm (Mon-Fri)
Week 2: 5am - 12.36pm (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat)
Week 3: 12.30pm - 8.06pm (Mon-Fri)
Duties, but not limited to:- Routine swabbing of production areas - food and non-food contact surfaces
- Basic lab analysis of samples using in-house instrumentation
- Prepare samples to be sent for external testing
- Prepare laboratory reagents
- Aid in production with labelling and collecting samples
- GMP inspections and checking CCPs
- General housekeeping
Skills/experience:- Bachelor of Science majoring in Food Science, Microbiology or similar
- Understanding of GMP and HACCP
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- High attention to detail and eager to learn
