About the company/role:
Our client, a global leader in the water, hygiene, and energy technology fields, is currently seeking a Service Technician on a part-time casual, ongoing basis, with the chance of becoming permanent.
In this role you will be undertaking water testing and equipment maintenance and troubleshooting for multiple customers in the mining, power and chemical supply industries, across Far North QLD.
This role will involve travel to various customer locations and full training will be provided. Although lab experience is not necessary, it would be advantageous for this position. The successful candidate must be able to commit to working 2/3 days per week with potential for hours to increase dependant on business needs.
 
Duties:
  • Routine inspection of water treatment systems.
  • Basic chemical analysis of samples and reporting results in templates provided.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting of dosing equipment.
  • Carrying out plant inspections and equipment maintenance as required.
  • Preparation of service reports, post inspection, and distribution to the customers.
 
Skills/experience:
  • A trade/TAFE qualification in engineering or scientific discipline would be advantageous.
  • Must have a current car and license (mandatory).
  • Be reliable and capable of working independently.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills to engage with customers on a regular basis. 
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Be mechanically minded and capable of trouble shooting simple equipment issues.
  • Basic plumbing knowledge is also advantageous.
