Senior Technical Officer

About the role:

• Major mining organisation based in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne
• 9-month casual contract (potential to extend)
• Mon-Fri, full-time
• Onsite parking available and easily accessible via public transport

Working within the Battery Laboratory, your duties will include, but not limited to:

• Project-based work collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring timelines are met
• Conduct routine laboratory analysis using chemical and material-based techniques
• Analysis of laboratory results and accurate interpretation
• Following SOPs and strict safety standards
• General laboratory housekeeping

Skills/experience:

• Tertiary education in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Materials Science. Must be minimum of an honours degree or Masters.
• 2-3 years' experience within a laboratory environment is required from industry or academia
• Experience in materials synthesis and materials characterisation techniques (e.g. XRD, PSD, SEM, BET, etc)
• Experience in the fabrication and testing of battery cells is highly advantageous
• Excellent time management and communication
• High attention to detail and ability to multitask
