About the role:

We are currently seeking a Scientist who has an expertise in using LC-MS. They will be responsible for pre-project planning, laboratory-based work, data analysis and reporting, overall project leadership and client communication. Duties may include but are not limited to:
 
  • Develop, optimise and validate analytical methods using LC-MS.
  • Develop detailed project plans for assigned projects. Identify and resolve resource constraints with the Senior Scientist.
  • Coordinate and execute all aspects of assigned projects, including method development, SOPs and forms, qualification/validation, technical work, routine data collection, data analysis, data reporting, logistics, timelines, deliverables and resources.
  • Designs, plans, performs, documents, and interprets scientific experiments. 
  • Manages operational aspects in the laboratory. Support, and at times lead, maintenance and qualification of technical equipment.
  • Supports bioanalytical laboratory team members to achieve their best performance.
  • Sign off and record training as per the QMS.

About you:
  • Tertiary education in Life Sciences, Immunology, Cellular/Molecular Biology, or other related area is required. Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years industry experience in LC-MS method development and validation
  • Proven experience in troubleshooting issues for LC-MS
  • Training and experience with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) techniques is highly preferred
  • Experience in an ISO/NATA-accredited regulatory environment is advantageous
  • Excellent analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong project management, planning and organisational skills.
  • Methodological, thorough and good attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to manage shifting demands and changing priorities, proactively looking for ways to contribute
