We are looking for a Research Scientist, for a 15month contract (maternity leave cover) with experience in in antibody/protein engineering to join our multidisciplinary team. This lab-based position is a great opportunity to help build our capabilities supporting lead antibody identification, optimisation and progression into the clinic. How you might spend your days:
- Analysing and designing antibody sequences (liabilities, humanisation, immunogenicity, homology models, reformatting) using bioinformatic tools.
- Contributing to the molecular biology team with designing, ordering and cloning monoclonal antibody and antigen genes into expression vectors.
- Performing biophysical analysis on monoclonal antibodies.
- Organizing, supporting, and collaborating with other team members to meet project deliverables and timelines.
- Using an ELN and database management system to compile data, generate reports, and track inventory.
- Training and mentoring your peers on antibody/protein engineering
Qualifications and Experience:
- PhD in a relevant field, or a MSc or Honours degree + 5 years of relevant antibody/protein engineering, molecular biology, computational structural biology.
- Extensive experience in in-silico antibody/protein engineering and structural biology.
- Expertise in molecular biology techniques.
- Experience in mammalian cell culture, transfection and flow cytometry.
- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities
