About the company/role: Our client is a growing radiopharmaceutical company expanding its operations in Brisbane. They are seeking a Radiochemist to join their R&D Technical Development team, supporting the development of radiolabelled drug products and pre-clinical programs.
This is a hands-on laboratory-based role where you will work closely with Pre-clinical, Drug Discovery and other scientific teams. You will be involved in the preparation and testing of radiolabelled drug products, formulation and process-development activities, analytical testing and the preparation of materials for pre-clinical studies.
This is an excellent opportunity for a scientist with strong practical laboratory experience who is looking to develop their expertise in radiopharmaceutical and drug product development.
Duties:- Prepare radiolabelled compounds and radioactive materials for R&D and pre-clinical studies.
- Prepare and coordinate study materials for in vitro and in vivo studies in line with project requirements and timelines.
- Perform radiolabelling, formulation and drug product development experiments.
- Investigate variables such as activity, concentration, formulation composition, pH, reaction conditions and hold times.
- Use analytical techniques including HPLC, radio-HPLC and radio-TLC to assess radiolabelling performance and product quality.
- Prepare reagents, buffers and experimental solutions required for development activities.
- Record experimental work accurately and maintain comprehensive laboratory documentation.
- Analyse experimental data and prepare data summaries, tables and figures.
- Investigate unexpected experimental or analytical results and support follow-up experiments and troubleshooting.
Skills & Experience: To be considered for the Production Chemist position candidates must have:
- Tertiary qualifications in science or pharmaceutical
- Previous hands-on laboratory experience within radiochemistry, chemistry, pharmaceutical development, biotechnology or a related scientific environment.
- Familiarity with analytical techniques such as HPLC, radio-HPLC or radio-TLC or related methods
- Experience supporting in vitro and/or in vivo pre-clinical studies will be highly regarded.
- A good understanding of laboratory calculations, experimental procedures and scientific data analysis.
- Experience with radiopharmaceutical or radioactive materials is highly desirable
