R&D Chemist

About the Company/Role:

• A reputable cosmetic contract manufacturing company with a strong presence in the Australasian markets
• Located in the Northern suburbs of Melbourne
• Seeking an experienced R&D Chemist to join their team on a permanent basis.
• Monday - Friday, standard working hours 

Duties:

Reporting to the R&D Manager, the key duties and responsibilities will be:

• Develop innovative cosmetic, therapeutic and personal care formulations for internal and external customers.
• Research emerging ingredients, technologies and market trends to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Design, formulate, optimise and troubleshoot products to achieve targeted performance, sensory, stability and cost objectives
• Create and maintain formulation records, product specifications, manufacturing procedures and technical documentation.
• Develop Product Information Sheets, technical data and supporting product claims documentation.
• Create and maintain raw material specifications and product master data.
• Undertake in-house SPF, water resistance and photo-stability testing

To be considered for this role, previous SPF formulation experience is essential

About you:

• BSc in Pharmaceutical / Formulation Science / Chemistry
• Demonstrated experience within R&D in a cosmetic/personal care company with sunscreen and cosmetic formulation experience
• Collaborative and driven
• Organized and logical
• Strong communication skills with excellent attention to detail
