R&D Chemist

About the role:

• The company is a reputable manufacturer of chemical, adhesive and coating products and they are currently undergoing substantial growth.
• Based in the western suburbs of Melbourne.
• Permanent full-time opportunity
• Monday to Friday with standard working hours 

About your duties:

Reporting to the Technical Manager, your main responsibilities may include:

• Manage and assist with projects from concept to commercialization
• Create/reformulate product at laboratory-scale and conduct analytical and application testing
• Record data and report experimental work
• Liaise with key stakeholders (production, quality, marketing etc.) and customers.
• Calibration of laboratory equipment
• Follow company policies and procedures
• General laboratory housekeeping
• Other duties as required

About you:

• The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Chemistry, Formulation Science or equivalent work experience.
• You will come with several years’ experience as an R&D Chemist within the chemical/coatings industry.
• Good understanding of the coating technology platforms 
• Deliver projects / tasks on time and as per plan 
• Effective organizational skills and management of multiple projects 
• Problem solving, excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Good team player and be able to work in a cross-functional team environment.
