About the company/role: Our client is a family-run food agricultural company supplying fresh produce into major retailers across Australia with over 40,000 hectares across 3 states in Australia. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity and the working hours are standard office hours. This role provides leadership, direction and guidance to the quality control team and reports directly to the Head of Quality.
Duties:- Managing and coaching quality teams across day and afternoon shifts (including performance reviews, development goals, inductions, training matrixes)
- Quality control performance monitoring and reporting
- Lead non-conformance investigations and implement corrective actions
- Trending of customer complaints against QC results to identify areas for proactive improvement
- Review and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures
- Optimise production and packaging of products in terms of quality and deadlines
- Conduct risk assessments, investigations and reporting related to food safety and quality functions
- Ownership of GMP standards, including conducting and coordinating GMP audits.
- Compliance with WHS legislation to ensure a safe working environment
- Drive collaboration within teams across multiple shifts
Skills/experience: - Tertiary qualification in Food Science or a related discipline
- Experience working in a senior level quality role preferably in the food industry, with quality control and people management experience and proven leadership capability
- Proven ability to lead teams and foster a collaborative working environment
- Strong attention to detail and accountability
- Excellent organisational skills, ability to multi task and timely reporting
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Mindset of operational excellence – Continuous improvement, measuring and addressing performance, customer focused
