About the role: 
  • The company is a reputable manufacturer of chemical, adhesive and coating products and they are currently undergoing substantial growth.
  • Based in the western suburbs of Melbourne
  • Start asap
  • Ongoing Casual contract with potential to go permanent
  • This role involves 12-hour shifts and will be working 80-hours per fortnight. Working 4 shifts on one week, and 3 shifts on the second week. You may start as early as 6:45 am.
About your duties:
Reporting to the Quality Supervisor, this role will ensure all products are of a high standard and comply with customer regulations.
  • Control of daily production schedule adherence in the laboratory
  • Assess and co-ordinate adjustments to the production batches, following the technical guidelines, so that the product specifications are met.
  • Maintain the laboratory quality control system and implement changes where necessary
  • Liaise with appropriate stakeholders, technical, commercial and sales, so that customers are informed of the status of production batches
  • Lead training activities for new employees
About you:
  • Previous experience working as a QC Chemist in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • To be successful in this position you will have a Bachelor of Science majoring in Chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • You will be a quality-focused individual with excellent attention to detail, have good communication skills and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • You must be able to think outside the box, confident in decision making, have excellent trouble shooting skills, be able to multitask and come with strong people management and interpersonal skills.
