About the company/role:
  • Major food/beverage manufacturing company
  • Based in the Western suburbs of Melbourne
  • Permanent, full-time opportunity

Duties:
  • Develop and implement quality systems and continuous improvement
  • Train staff in the requirements of the Quality system and HACCP
  • Identify and lead development of new quality assurance processes and systems
  • Ensure quality compliance and up-to-date documentation is adhered to with relevant national and international standards, local and international governing bodies
  • Prepare quality documents, specifications, MSDS and PIFs
  • Formulation of food and beverage, from initial concept to launch
  • Conduct trials in house and in customers process
  • Draft nutritional, shelf stability and food safety aspects of product development
  • Conduct internal and external quality audits
  • Manage pest control services and documentation

Skills/experience:
  • Tertiary education in Food Science, or similar
  • Proven experience in management of a quality team is nice to have
  • Knowledge of food technology systems and food quality
  • Technical training and accreditations (HACCP, GMP, GFSI, DAFF, SQF and BSI Quality Management)
  • Knowledge of Kosher and Halal certification process
  • Demonstrated ability, training and qualification in food and beverage
  • Experience in a similar role in a food manufacturing facility, beverage would be highly regarded
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and positive attitude
