About the company/role:
Our client, a leading global environmental organisation, is seeking a Permit Officer to join their team on the Gold Coast. This is an ongoing position with a strong likelihood of extension, and the role is set to start immediately!

In this role, you will support the creation, review and coordination of work permits at the desalination plant. You will be part of a prestigious organisation known for its world-class services and expertise, boasting over 40 years of experience in water, waste, and energy management.

Duties:
  • Create, review & coordinate work permits to ensure GCDP operations are compliant with site and WHS regulations.
  • Manage the GCDP Permit to work system using the management software system.
  • Serve as the primary contact for permit holders including site operations/maintenance staff and contractors for all site permit requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with approved permits and identify potential violations.
  • Coordinate and conduct isolations of plant and equipment with the relevant authorized isolation and verification techniques

Skills/experience:
 
  • Proven experience in the practical application of permits in construction/operating plant setting.
  • Experience with LOTO system (Lock Out / Tag Out)
  • Understanding of WHS practices in high-risk environments
  • Experience reviewing risk assessment documentation including JSEAs & SWMSs
  • Proficiency in the Google suite of programs (Google Docs and Google Sheets).
