About the Role Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a
driven and personable Mobile Asbestos Laboratory Specialist to join their team! This permanent role is ideal for someone with a strong background in asbestos testing who is looking to grow their career in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
In this role, you will work from a
mobile, vehicle-based laboratory, travelling to client sites across Brisbane to carry out asbestos sampling and analysis in the field.
Note: All successful applicants must undergo medical testing, including drug and alcohol screening, and complete a criminal history check.
Key Responsibilities As part of this role, you will:
- Lead asbestos inspections and identify ACMs through sample collection, analysis, and detailed reporting in line with AS 5370 and ISO 17025 standards.
- Operate field sampling equipment in diverse environments including buildings and industrial facilities.
- Accurately identify and analyse asbestos samples using stereo and polarised light microscopy (PLM).
- Communicate effectively with clients and on-site personnel regarding inspections and findings.
- Prepare high-quality documentation and reports that meet NATA-accredited standards.
What they’re looking for- Around 3 years’ hands-on experience in asbestos testing
- Proven experience identifying asbestos using PLM and stereo microscopy
- Willingness to complete proficiency testing for asbestos identification (supported by the employer once you’ve started)
- Familiarity with relevant standards (e.g. ISO 17025, ISO 9001, AS 5370 / AS 4964, ISO 22262)
- Valid Australian Class C driver’s licence and confidence working in a mobile lab environment
- Strong communication skills and a practical, proactive approach
- Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload
