About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced
Microbiologist for a short-term contract (approximately 2-3 months) to
start immediately, with a leading beverage manufacturer based in
Yatala. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will play a key role in ensuring product quality, food safety, hygiene standards, and microbiological compliance across all operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a microbiologist with experience in food, beverage, dairy, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing environments who enjoys hands-on laboratory work combined with on-site quality and hygiene support.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct microbiological testing and analysis
- Perform routine sampling, monitoring, and reporting of microbiological results
- Trend and analyse data to identify potential risks and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Support HACCP, GMP, GLP and food safety compliance programs
- Investigate microbiological and hygiene-related issues using root cause analysis techniques
- Conduct GMP inspections, audits, and hygiene surveys
- Collaborate with Production, Packaging, Engineering, and Quality teams
- Assist in maintaining laboratory equipment and ensuring testing integrity
- Promote best-practice hygiene standards to minimise contamination risks
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with laboratory and quality requirements
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Microbial Science, or a related discipline
- Previous microbiology laboratory experience within food, beverage, pharmaceutical, environmental, or manufacturing industries
- Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP and GLP principles
- Experience performing microbiological testing and result interpretation
- Excellent reporting, problem-solving and communication skills
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality standards
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
