About the company/role:
  • Located in Melbourne’s Northern suburbs
  • Hands-on workshop-based role ideal for trade-qualified or mechanically minded candidates who enjoy assembling, troubleshooting, and working with equipment
  • Suitable for Fitters, Maintenance Fitters, Mechanical Assemblers, Automotive Mechanics, Diesel Mechanics, and similar trades
  • Full-time opportunity with long-term career growth
  • Flexible working hours, Monday to Friday
Duties will include, but not limited to:
  • Assemble, build, and test mechanical products and equipment
  • Use hand and power tools to complete assembly and maintenance tasks
  • Inspect, fault-find, and troubleshoot mechanical issues
  • Repair and rework products where required
  • Read and follow technical drawings, assembly instructions, and procedures
  • Prepare components and sub-assemblies for production
  • Support workshop operations, inventory management, and stock control
  • Maintain production records and update internal systems
  • Identify and escalate quality, safety, or process concerns
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Skills/experience required:
  • Mechanical trade qualification or strong mechanical aptitude
  • Experience as a Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, Mechanical Assembler, Automotive Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Toolmaker, or similar trade
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, workshop, maintenance, production, or assembly environments
  • Confident using hand and power tools
  • Ability to fault-find, troubleshoot, and solve mechanical problems
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
  • Forklift licence (LF) advantageous but not essential
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and willing to learn
