Maintenance Fitter

About the company/role:
Our client is a leading baking ingredient manufacturer supplying businesses across Australia and New Zealand.  They are seeking a Maintenance Fitter to join their team on a short-term basis for 8-weeks. Ideally, they would like this person to start as soon as possible. The working hours are Monday-Friday, 06:30am-3pm with overtime options available.
 
Duties:

• Conduct scheduled and preventive maintenance plant machinery
• Follow maintenance schedules in line with production plans
• Respond quickly to machine breakdowns
• Fault find mechanical issues
• Repair or replace faulty components
• Follow HACCP, GMP and food safety procedures
• Record maintenance activities for documentation purposes
• Complete work orders and checklists
• Work safely and report any safety risks

Skills/experience:

• Trade qualification (Mechanical Fitter/ Fitter & Turner) is essential
• Experience in food manufacturing environment is highly desirable
• Working at heights and confided spaces is advantageous
• Strong fault finding and mechanical aptitude
• Awareness of food safety systems (HACCP, GMP)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
