About the company/role:
Our client is a well-regarded Australian life sciences company with a strong presence in the development of diagnostic and assay technologies. With their head office based in South Brisbane (less than 20km from the CBD), they are seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to join their team on a permanent basis.
General hours are 8am – 4pm. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a controlled laboratory environment, contributing to product development initiatives and collaborating closely with R&D scientists.  

Duties:
  • Conduct laboratory experiments to support product development initiatives for the Life Sciences team
  • Work collaboratively with project teams to support experimental and product development progress
  • Contribute to inventory control of raw materials, components and finished products
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, monitoring and calibration
  • Assist with logistics and shipping in line with customer delivery schedules
  • Ensure compliance with quality systems, maintaining accurate documentation for traceability and following laboratory protocols and operating procedures
Skills/experience:
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with immunoassays or immunodiagnostics (ELISA, CLIA, Lateral Flow etc.)
  • Strong technical, planning and organisational skills
  • Experience working within quality systems and maintaining accurate laboratory documentation
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong communication, reporting and data analysis skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
This role does not require a tertiary qualification; however, a Diploma or Certificate in Laboratory Techniques or a related field would be highly desirable
