Lab Technician

Evolve Scientific is recruiting on behalf of a leading industrial laboratory seeking an experienced Environmental Laboratory Technician to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with recent experience in water, wastewater or environmental testing who can confidently work in a fast-paced laboratory environment. This is a casual role offering 4-5 days per week for approx. 3 months with strong likelihood of extension beyond this.

About the Role
Working within an established laboratory team, you will perform a range of routine environmental analyses and support the delivery of accurate and timely testing results.

Key responsibilities include:

• Sample preparation and processing
• Environmental and water quality testing
• Routine wet chemistry analysis
• Operation and maintenance of analytical instrumentation
• Data entry and results reporting using LIMS
• Maintaining laboratory quality and safety standards
• Supporting the team to meet testing turnaround times

 
Techniques & Instrumentation
Testing may include:

• Ion Chromatography (IC)
• ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS
• Discrete Analysers
• UV-Vis Spectrophotometry
• Titrations
• Gravimetric analysis
• pH, conductivity and dissolved oxygen testing

 
About You
To be successful, you will possess:

• A qualification in Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related discipline
• Recent experience in an environmental, water, wastewater or analytical testing laboratory
• Strong wet chemistry skills
• Experience operating analytical instrumentation such as IC, ICP or discrete analysers
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow established laboratory procedures
• Experience working within a quality-focused laboratory environment
