About the company/role:

Our client is Australia’s major independent analytical service providers with multiple laboratories in Australia. As they continue to grow, we are seeking a General Manager to join their team in Melbourne and play a pivotal role in ensuring the excellence of their products.

Duties:

The General Manager is required to ensure that the companies objectives related to service, accuracy and cost are achieved, and the policies on technical, commercial and administrative matters adopted by the Company.
 
Reporting to the General Manager are National Laboratory Operations Manager, National Quality & Technical Manager and National Client Services Manager.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES: 
 
  • Designing and implementing management structures in consultation
  • Developing management to work as an harmonious team
  • Monitoring cost control, productivity and service performance
  • Resolving industrial issues through direct involvement without delay
  • Planning and implementing training and development programmes for staff
  • Participating in the design of reporting systems
  • Implementing Total Quality Management procedures; and
  • Conducting Agrifood Technology management meetings
  • Make decisions taking into account work objectives and the implications of alternative

Skills/experience:
  • 5-10 years of laboratory experience in multiple laboratory sections
  • Science Degree majoring in Chemistry.
  • Strong numeracy and financial skills. 
  • Alignment with Eurofins Leadership Charter, Mission, Vision and Values.
  • General preference and comfort in technical environments.
  • Ability to build and structure business plans, submissions and initiatives.
  • Desire to continually learn and improve.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically and directly.
