Food Technologist to join a well-established food manufacturing business based in Melbourne's western suburbs. This contract position offers the chance to work within a collaborative product development team, supporting innovation and continuous improvement projects across a diverse product portfolio.
The Role As a Food Technologist, you will play a key role in supporting product development activities, conducting trials, maintaining technical documentation, and working closely with production and quality teams to bring products from concept through to commercialisation.
The successful candidate will be available to work full-time initially, with flexibility to transition to reduced hours later in the year as required.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with new product development and product improvement projects
- Conduct factory and laboratory trials
- Support product formulation and recipe development
- Analyse trial results and prepare technical reports
- Maintain accurate product specifications and documentation
- Collaborate with Quality, Production, and cross-functional teams
- Ensure products meet food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
About You- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related discipline
- Previous experience within a food manufacturing environment preferred
- Exposure to product development activities, whether through industry employment, internships, or university projects
- Strong technical understanding of food science principles
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple priorities
- Available to commence immediately
