About the role - 
  • Based in the south eastern suburbs. 
  • Mon to Friday with standard working hours
  • Temporary contract for 3 months with potential to extend
  • You'll be reporting to the R&D Lead
About your duties -
  • Developing formulations for products, improvement of formulations, product optimisation
  • Using Labelling Software, artwork review, compile ingredient declarations and nutrition information panels for sample submissions in accordance with legislative requirements.
  • Conduct trials for product improvement, assessment of new or replacement ingredients and shelf-life extensions.
  • Participate in sensory assessments of products and ingredients.
  • Participate in preparing for and execution of production trials.
  • Prepare scaled up production formulations and instructions for final review and approval.
  • Maintain a safe workspace and carry out all duties within OH&S guidelines.
About you -
  • Degree in Food Science & Technology or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years experience in the food industry especially working in NPD.
  • Knowledge of Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) with technical ability to interpret food regulations.
  • Technical knowledge of a range of ingredients, manufacturing processes and quality and food safety systems involved in food production (eg; HACCP, SQF or similar).
  • Competent skills in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written & verbal.
  • Ability to take directions and meet deadlines.
  • Pro-active and self-motivated with ability to plan and task manage numerous projects simultaneously.
