About the company/role:
Evolve Scientific is recruiting for a Food NPD Technologist role with a global meat, seafood, poultry and protein based value-added (e.g. marinates, sausages etc) processing company. Our client supplies major retailers in NZ and globally and an integral part of this position is managing relationships directly with the stakeholders. This is a collaborative role working across all aspects of NPD, process and packaging improvement.
 
Duties:
  • Dealing directly with stakeholders and managing relationships
  • Project management and communication across various platforms: customer meetings, forums etc
  • Management of full stage-gate life cycle from brief to commercialisation
  • Manage all aspects of product design including process, ingredients and packaging
  • Coordinate product validations: shelf-life testing, NIP, organoleptic assessments
  • Ensure launch plans meet schedules e.g. Summer, Winter, Festive holidays
  • Provide leadership to junior team members
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments e.g. operations, procurement, planning

Skills/experience:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or a related discipline
  • Experience in food product development essential
  • Previous experience is meat manufacturing is highly desirable
  • Experience with stage-gate process from brief to launch is essential
  • Experience in project management and managing client expectations and timelines 
  • Working knowledge of regulatory & QA FMCG manufacturing industry requirements.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with commercial acumen
