About the Company/Role: We are looking for a driven individual who thrives in a challenging environment to work within this Australian, family-owned beverage manufacturing company. Our client’s unique brand of alcoholic beverages is enjoyed around the world and is made using traditional brewing methods.
This busy beverage manufacturer requires a Food Lab Technician with previous experience in a commercial microbiology lab. The successful candidate will have good knowledge of food microbiology, aseptic technique and food quality and safety standards.
Duties:- Collection, storage and organisation of samples
- Micro testing, plating and counting colonies on plates
- Preparation of media and buffers
- Data collation on Excel
- Autoclave operation
- Titration and general wet chemistry
- Calibration of lab equipment
- General laboratory housekeeping
Skills & Requirements:- Tertiary qualifications in Food Science/Microbiology/Chemistry
- Have experience in food microbiology lab
- Excellent laboratory skills; including pipetting, general microbiology and chemistry techniques
- Understand the food manufacturing industry including associated quality systems
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Be a team player, display initiative and attention to detail and demonstrate a willingness to learn
- In addition, you will be proactive, highly organised and more importantly have a great work attitude and ability to work as part of a team
