About the Company/Role: Based in the western suburbs of Sydney, this FMCG manufacturing company is a division of a multinational company with many product lines across a diverse range of products including personal care, cosmetics and household care products. The Senior Development Chemist will manage development projects and support the implementation of new products for the contract manufacturing division in Personal Care categories.
Responsibilities include:
- Project manage all projects to completion within budget and agreed timelines
- Manage the formulation and development of new innovative personal care products
- Improve formulations and processes of existing products to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiencies.
- Complete manufacture of laboratory scale batches for formulation development, customer sampling and stability testing.
- Provide support to manufacturing NPD, technical/laboratory sales and marketing personnel as required. Oversee the sourcing of raw materials and work closely with suppliers and customers to trouble shoot and provide technical advice
- Assist in the investigation of out of specification results and customer complaints.
Skills & Experience:- Tertiary qualifications in a Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- Extensive experience in the Personal Care manufacturing industry
- Proven track record in completing projects to full scope and on time from concept to shelf
- Understanding of technical, IP and regulatory requirements and standards
- Experience with troubleshooting and implementing an investigative approach
- Possess strong communication skills with the ability to work with multiple levels of the business
- Excellent eye for detail and accuracy skills
