About the company/role: Our client, a leading manufacturer of precast concrete products, is currently seeking an
experienced Concrete Testing Technician to join their team on a
permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to utilise your industry experience whilst continuing to further develop your skills.
This is a
full-time position,
Monday to Friday from approximately
4:30am to 12:30pm. In this role you will conduct various tests and analyses on concrete samples to ensure quality and compliance with set standards, including physical tests, equipment calibrations, data analysis, and reporting to support production requirements. You will also assist in the coordination of product transportation using various couriers.
Duties:- Conduct tests on concrete samples, including spread and compressive strength tests.
- Record and analyse test data, reporting deviations to the production manager.
- Prepare, handle, and store concrete samples according to safety and environmental regulations.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment.
- Follow QA/QC procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance with testing protocols.
- Maintain documentation and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Liaise with production and couriers to manage the transport and supply of materials.
Skills/experience: - Minimum of a certificate III in Laboratory Skills and experience working within a NATA certified laboratory.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in concrete testing, including compression, grinding and slumping.
- Knowledge of concrete properties, mix design, and relevant testing standards.
- Physical ability to lift and transport samples/equipment and is comfortable working within a noisy, dusty environment.
- Strong attention to detail, technical communication skills, and data analysis abilities.
- Ability to work independently, make decisions, and resolve problems efficiently.
