About the Company / Role
  • A well-established scientific organisation is seeking an experienced Chemist to join their laboratory team on a contract basis.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated laboratory professional to work within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment and contribute to high-quality testing and laboratory operations.
  • Monday to Friday
  • Day and afternoon shift flexibility may be required
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform chemistry testing and analysis in accordance with established methods and procedures
  • Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation and equipment
  • Prepare samples, reagents and calibration standards
  • Process, review and interpret analytical data
  • Ensure quality control and quality assurance requirements are met
  • Conduct routine calibration, maintenance and performance checks of laboratory equipment
  • Maintain compliance with laboratory quality, safety and regulatory requirements
  • Manage workload effectively to meet testing deadlines and operational requirements
Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline
  • Previous laboratory experience in analytical, environmental, food, pharmaceutical, industrial or related testing environments
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation is advantageous (e.g. HPLC, GC, GC-MS, LC-MS, ICP, UV-Vis, FTIR or similar)
  • Experience working within a regulated or accredited laboratory environment is highly regarded
  • Strong problem-solving and data interpretation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a laboratory team
