About the company/role:
  • We are seeking an experienced Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q) Engineer to join a high-profile capital project
  • This is a critical role within the core C&Q project team, responsible for delivering commissioning and qualification activities for pharmaceutical processing equipment to the highest industry and regulatory standards.
  • 12-month casual contract with strong likelihood of extension
  • Fulltime, standard business hours

Duties include, but not limited to:
  • Plan, coordinate and execute commissioning & qualification (C&Q) activities for GMP pharmaceutical equipment
  • Develop and execute qualification protocols including FAT, SAT, DQ, IQ, OQ
  • Author and review GxP documentation (URS, traceability matrices, protocols, reports, risk assessments, change controls)
  • Translate project requirements into detailed test plans across systems within the facility
  • Coordinate schedules, resources, and risks to deliver milestones on time
  • Lead C&Q execution within your assigned area and provide technical guidance to stakeholders
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Validation, QC, R&D, and Project Delivery teams
  • Drive problem-solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support HS&E risk assessments and ensure compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards
  • Provide informal leadership to a team of 4–5 indirect reports during execution phases

Skills/experience required:

  • Degree in Engineering or a relevant Science discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Bioprocess or similar)
  • 5 years’ experience in commissioning & qualification within pharmaceutical or GMP environments
  • Strong experience qualifying automated process equipment and systems
  • Solid understanding of cGMP, validation principles, and risk-based qualification
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight schedules
  • Experience with Kneat, Veeva, or similar validation systems (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Siemens PCS / S88 systems (advantageous)
