About the Role: Our client, a leading pharmaceutical manufacturer based in Brisbane’s western suburbs, is seeking an experienced
Building Management Systems (BMS) Validation Engineer to join their team on a casual ongoing contract for 6–9 months. This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week).
This role will support the transition of the site BMS from Siemens Apogee to Desigo, ensuring the system operates in accordance with design specifications, regulatory requirements, and functional performance standards.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing validation plans and protocols, executing validation activities, and documenting Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) testing to ensure system integrity, safety, and compliance.
NOTE: Applicants will be required to undertake a full medical assessment, drug screening and police check to be eligible for this role.
The successful candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:- Protocol Development & Execution: Writing and performing IQ/OQ/PQ protocols for BMS hardware and software, including checking graphics, point configuration, and alarm functionalities.
- System Testing & Commissioning: Verifying sequences of operation (e.g., alarms and reporting) to ensure they meet design intent, including checking data points, report schedules and alarm destinations.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintaining thorough documentation, including validation reports, traceability matrices, and audit trails to meet GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), FDA, PIC/S standards.
- Risk Assessment & Management: Identifying risks to system performance, compliance, or safety and developing mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Acting as a point of contact between engineering teams, facility management, and quality assurance to ensure regulatory compliance.
Skills & Experience: The successful candidate must have:
- A degree qualification in Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience within a regulated manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical experience highly regarded)
- Hands-on experience with HVAC systems
- Strong knowledge of GMP-regulated environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail with strong organisational and time management skills
