About the company/role:
Our client, a global manufacturing company, is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Storeperson for an ongoing position within the Maintenance and Reliability team. Offering 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday (6:00 AM - 2:00 PM), this role is responsible for the effective management of all maintenance stores activities, including sourcing and purchasing parts, consumables, and services. This role also involves kitting items for planned maintenance tasks, maintaining optimal inventory levels, and ensuring stock accuracy and availability to support site operations.

Note: The successful candidate must be able to complete a criminal history check and a medical test, including drug screening.

Duties
  • Source parts, consumables, and services from suppliers
  • Receive, store, and issue inventory
  • Maintain stock accuracy through cycle counts and inventory control
  • Prepare kits for planned maintenance activities
  • Support Maintenance & Operations teams with ad hoc requests
  • Process MRP transactions (receipting, labelling, stock movement)
  • Load and unload deliveries
  • Maintain storehouse standards (6S, GMP compliance)
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in training and operational excellence activities

About You
  • Valid forklift licence (essential)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar storeperson role
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems (SAP highly regarded)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Physically capable of handling stock and materials
  • Current driver’s license and your own reliable vehicle as the site is difficult to access via public transport
