About the Role
A Government Organisation is seeking an experienced Project Engagement Officer (AO5) to join the Northern District Customer and Stakeholder Engagement team, for a 2-year contract with a one year extension option based on performance. This role is critical in supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects across the district, including:
  • Angus Smith Drive upgrade
  • Abbott Street Connection Road and Oonooba Road safety improvements
  • Bruce Highway Tranche 1–7 (including Gairloch Floodway and Halifax intersection projects)
These projects require intensive stakeholder engagement, proactive communications planning, and timely delivery of high-quality materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication with stakeholders.
  • Maintain consistency and quality across all project messaging.
  • Support the team in managing engagement with a large and geographically dispersed stakeholder group, including road users, local residents, local governments, and businesses.
  • Reduce pressure on the existing team, enabling focus on strategic priorities.
 
Skills & Experience
  • Strong experience in stakeholder engagement and communications.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience in government or infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
  • A Criminal History Check is mandatory prior to commencement.
