About the company/role:
Our client, a government organisation, is looking for a skills Laboratory Supervisor to join their team in Mackay on a full-time, temporary basis for 11 months with possibility of extension

AS a Laboratory Supervisor you will manage the dust laboratory which supplied roadway dust and dust deposition analysis services to industry. You will supervise a small team of dedicated laboratory assistants and an Administration Officer.

Duties:
  • Supervise and conduct laboratory dust testing following the key elements of job management including planning, coordinating, leveraging resources, disciplined execution, job monitoring and delivery to ensure client needs are met.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise staff, monitor team performance and provide timely and constructive feedback in a laboratory environment.
  • Laboratory experience and competency to manage dust analysis services.
  • Responsible for delivering high quality customer-focused laboratory testing services, understanding customer perspectives, and responding to their needs.
  • Respond to client enquiries including the preparation of quotations and reporting results.
Skills/experience:
 
  • Certificate in chemistry / laboratory techniques or significant equivalent experience
  • Experience supervising within a laboratory setting
  • Experience in following processes, operating procedures and meeting tight deadlines to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Strong stakeholder engagement experience
  • Current Australian driving licence
