Animal Technician

About the company/role:

• Major pharmaceutical company
• Based close to Melbourne CBD
• Casual contract till end of the year
• Full time hours on rotating shifts (day, afternoon, night)
• Some weekend work

Duties:

• Monitor animal health and conduct dosing of animals
• Perform enzyme immunoassay, toxicity testing and potency assays
• Assisting in assay validation and writing SOP’s/reports
• Maintain animal health and wellbeing
• Perform euthanasia of animals when required
• Data entry
• General laboratory housekeeping

Skills/Experience:

• Tertiary education in science, animal technology, or similar
• Experience in animal handling, care and euthanasia
• Demonstrated experience in a laboratory
• Understanding of GMP
• Familiarity with the ethics requirements for the use of animals for Scientific purposes
