About the Company/Role:
  • Join a growing environmental testing laboratory supporting a broad range of environmental monitoring and analytical chemistry services.
  • Seeking an experienced Analytical Chemist with strong GC and LC instrumentation experience to support routine environmental testing and laboratory operations.
  • Permanent full time opportunity 
  • Monday to Friday with standard working hours 
Duties:
Your responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
  • Perform sample preparation and analysis of environmental samples
  • Operate, calibrate, maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation including GC, GC-MS, LC and LC-MS/MS systems.
  • Process analytical data, perform calculations and review quality control results.
  • Monitor analytical performance and investigate quality control issues where required.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory documentation in accordance with quality management system requirements.
  • Support method validation, verification and implementation of new analytical techniques.
  • Contribute to laboratory efficiency initiatives and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with laboratory teams to achieve quality standards and turnaround time objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory safety procedures, ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and regulatory standards.
About You:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
  • Similar industrial analytical laboratory experience with strong hands-on GC, GC-MS, LC and/or LC-MS/MS experience is essential.
  • Previous experience working within an environmental testing laboratory is highly regarded.
  • Experience operating within an ISO/IEC 17025 quality management system, ideally within a NATA-accredited laboratory.
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting, problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced laboratory environment.
