Duties: Reporting to the Inorganics Supervisor, this role will be responsible for running smooth operations of the Water lab and Metals section including day to day personnel management, meeting short term and long term objectives and contributing to overall efficiency and business growth.   POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES & OBJECTIVES:              Check spreadsheets and data submitted by analysts.Check worklists and organise for urgent samples to be analysedConduct internal audits.Respond to CAPAs raised and update SOPs and LTMs.Organise for internal calibrations to be carried out as scheduled each month.Liaise with Analytical Service Managers about results checking and/or repeating.Help with troubleshooting instruments.Train analysts with different tasks as well as cross train and delegate tasks to staff.Ensure all staff members are performing the QC as required.Perform analysis, calculations and maintenance if applicable. Skills/experience:Degree in Chemistry or equivalentExperience working at a ISO17025 accredited laboratory.5+ years experience in leading a team and demonstrated technical capability.Experience with instruments such as Discrete Analysers, SFAs, ICs BOD/COD Analysers and ICPMS.Experience with people management and managing small to medium teams in driving performance and operational success.
